9th Avenue and 21st Street looking south: The crown of the roadway surface drains meltwater to the curb, though the separate bikeway poses a special problem: plowed snow on the uphill side will continue to drain as the temperature drops, and will freeze to black ice on the bikeway unless heavily salted.
