Newton St. separates

Newton street separates from West Roxbury Parkway in the middle of the image. Three concepts for the intersection are shown, one in place and two at the upper right. Enlargements of them are here, here and here. Newton Street east of the split has been narrowed so much as to require motorists to merge into the oncoming lane to overtake slower or stopped traffic. Bicycle travel, then, will only be pleasant on the multi-use path on the north side, though almost all trip endpoints are on the south side. Any bus, moving van, delivery truck or left-turning vehicle which must stop will require all traffic behind it to stop also.

You may click on the image to see a larger version in which the labels are readable.

Just about in the middle of this section of the plans is the location of some pictures in the Northeastern students' presentation.
