Drainage of the tunnel has worsened over the years. This photo was taken in 2003. Comment by Gary Smiley: "Tunnel under the Eliot Bridge at beginning of Greenough Boulevard. This tunnel is always flooded, usually completely. In addition, the other end of the tunnel contains about 3-4 inches of dirt. I dare anyone to check the bacteria level of this swill."
