No mountain bike!

Gary Fisher of Fisher Mountainbikes showed up at the rally uncharacteristically dressed like an 1890s wheelman (well, maybe except for the Dr. Seuss socks), riding a Dutch one-speed coaster-brake utility bicycle with generator lights, panniers and a fully-enclosed chain case but no front brake. I asked him about riding the San Francisco hills on this bicycle. Climbing wouldn't be a problem for Gary (and for extreme grades, there's always the "two-foot gear"). Gary did admit that long downhill stretches could be an issue -- Repack revisited!
