I’ve prepared a full translation of the important paper by Dr. Volker Briese of the University of Paderborn in Germany about the history of German bikeways from 1897 through the start of World War II. This has previously been available only in German, or in a highly condensed version in English in the narrowly distributed Proceedings of the 1993 International Cycle History Conference. You may read the English translation here, and find your way to the other versions as well.

Look forward to reading this. I had my own ubersetzung of one of Herr Briese’s abstracts on our site at one time.
