In 2006, the crosswalk stripes are farther apart but the cut-through in the median is no wider. The bicyclist in the foreground blocks the entry of the one in the background into the narrow curb ramp. The bicyclist in the foreground also doesn't know how to mount and dismount -- she is still using the child's tricycle technique, sitting on the saddle and tiptoeing to keep both feet on the ground. Paths attract bicyclists with low skil levels, and os forgiving design is especially important. Photo by Christopher Porter.
