Landings
All the overpasses on the trail have level landings, as seen behind the cyclists in this photo. The landings are required under the Americans with Disabilities Act to provide places for wheelchair users to rest. The landings make for a bumpy ride for bicyclists, which can be smoothed by rising off the saddle and "posting" like an equestrian on a trotting horse.
