We look east from the same location. The door zone bike lane -- whose only escape option involves crossing tracks -- makes a sharp right turn, then left turn, behind a shelter for people waiting to get onto the streetcar. A recent Copenhagen study found 19 times the crash risk and 17 times the injury rate with bicycles routed behind bus stops. The bicycle routing here is more constrained than is typical in Copenhagen, and the street runs downhill, so bicyclists must slow down to get through this maze.
