A new religious use

The masked exploration is underway here. The building which now stands on the site of the first Jewish service was once the headquarters of the Transamerica Corporation. It is now the headquarters of the Church of Scientology. The plaque marking the first Jewish service is at the lower right, behind the white car. The fire escape with the Stars of David also is visible on the right side of the building. The Stars of David are not the only religious symbol which the building bears. The cross at the front is, Scientologists explain, the Scientology Cross. They also explain that the cross was in use as a religious symbol well before the time of Jesus. His advice to turn the other cheek might be pertinent here.
