A restaurant just north of Old Orchard Road has installed a ramp for access to the Rail Trail, and porta-potties -- a welcome amenity. As is common with amenities installed by abutters, the ramp does not reflect careful engineering -- it could be better designed for sight lines and to avoid ride-out incidents. Children with poor control of their bicycles often ride out into the street from sloping driveways, and the same thing could happen here.
