Socializing after church, early 1940s

This and the other photos from the same occasion were possibly taken by Arthur L. Stewart, whose career as an engineer in Rochester, New York gave him early access to new Kodak products, particularly, color film. His being the photographer is also suggested by the nearness of Alice M. Stewart, his wife, to the camera (if the identification is correct). Other possible photographers are Harold Stewart, son of the Rev. Harold S. Stewart, Harold Welch, or Paul Stewart.

The two color slides were taken on size 828 film, which produces images slightly larger than 35mm film. Knowledge of other photos in this same rather unusual size would help identify the photographer.

Can you identify the people? Some tentative identifications:

Madeline Welch: Woman in flowered dress, looking toward camera (probable)
Florence Boothby: Woman behind and to the right of Madeline Welch.
Harold S. Stewart: bald head at church gate behind woman with flowered hat.
Isabel Matthews Stewart : woman in pink behind woman with flowered hat
Alice Matthews Stewart: Woman with white gloves and handbag looking toward camera (possible).
Alexander M. Stewart: Man at the left facing the woman with the white handbag.
