Mary Allen loves to listen. Born the quiet member of an articulate family, she spent
her childhood on a farm near Rochester, New York. Through her experiences as a social
worker, mother, committee member and later-life watercolorist, Mary has been listening to
everyone with understanding and wry good humor. In the seven northeastern cities she has moved among, she has observed people at parties, in kitchens, in stores, on airplanes, in theaters, and at art workshops. And she honestly observes herself as well. Mary and her husband of fifty-three years now live in Ocala, Florida. They have three children, John, Jean, and James. |
