We begin our tour of the project at its northeast corner and head south and west. This photo shows the south end of Sidney Street as extended to Waverly Street, looking south. The goal here evidently was to provide an alternative to Brookline Street for north-south through traffic. North of this location (behind the camera), Sidney Street passes lthrough an industrial area, while Brookline Street, one block to the west (to the right of this photo) passes a small park and residences. The bike lane here is routed only for right turns, to the right of a right-turn lane, a nonstandard and perplexing treatment. There are no dashes or other indications for bicyclists who might want to go to the left of the traffic island. Bicyclists might, after all, also wish to turn left or to go straight across into the parking lot on the far side of Waverly Street.
