Bowdoin Street 1

We look across Bowdoin Street, on the south side of the intersection. The main actuator loop is mostly after the stop bar, and the bicycle symbol is only partly inside the loop. As with all the loops, sealing compound was applied after the paint; here, the compound partly obscures the bicycle symbol. Though the compound will probably wear away fairly quickly, its being applied over the paint suggests that the saw cuts in the pavement for sensor wires were made after the symbol was painted. To assure that the symbol will be in the right location, either painting must be done last or there must be a precise plan. There was none here.
