Wide shoulder

This section of highway (just south of the overpass leading to park headquarters) also has a wide shoulder and would be serviceable as a through bicycle route. Whether a citation for bicycling on this highway would hold up in court is an open question, given that the trail is not open at all hours and in all seasons. (John Allen photo, 1997)
