Not so evident from street level -- and not indicated by signs or lane markings at the approaches on Harrison Street -- the barrier is curved so it provides small waiting areas for bicyclists to the left of motor traffic, if the cyclists approach the median strip to the left of the cut-through and then turn right to wait.
