Here on Naito Boulevard, bicyclists are constrained to turn right and then left along the far side of the entrance ramp from a bridge, reversing the usual yielding rules. The island here, in line with the bike lane, also may be hard to see at night. Motorists are not required to yield to bicyclists here -- though they are required to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk just out of the picture to the right, and to motorists already on Naito. To continue on Naito, bicyclists and motorists must merge left across the entrance ramp, which becomes an off ramp after the overpass in the background. Better would be to bring the on ramp out at a sharper angle, so motorists on the on ramp yield to all traffic on Naito -- pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists.
