This is on SW Barbur Boulevard northbound. Because bicyclists are required to ride in the bike lane by Oregon law, they must take the slower route with the crosswalk. They do not have the legal option to continue on the roadway in this fast downhill stretch even if they are perfectly competent to do so and there is no conflicting traffic.
