Contraflow lane starts at the lower left of the photo. Chevron markings in the intersection direct bicyclists to the sidepath. Chevrons start in the travel lane to the right of the extension of the shoulder. Bicyclists would more usually ride in the shoulder, though that is unlawful. 31st Street is one-way left to right, so motor traffic does not turn left across the path of bicyclists riding to the left of the travel lane.
