A brief side trip -- we look south on Clinton Street toward Grand Street. The sign suggests that motor vehicles pass on the left and bicyclists keep right, while the shared-lane marking suggests that bicyclists ride in the middle of the lane.
Ciccarelli: Current MUTCD has no rear-of-bike or front-of-bike or "bird's eye view of bike" bicycle icon -- only the side-view bike icon seen here. In contrast, the car icon shows its front or rear.
Allen: good point, the sign shows the bicycle running into the side of the car :-)
